Can I track my own Claims? Can youreimburse my claim using direct deposit?


Yes. Once registered, plan members/dependents can:

-       View personal claims history;

-       Select direct deposit for claim pay­ments;

-       Access dependent claims information (for those individualsunder the age    of majority);

-       Obtain details on the reason for particular claimadjustments or      rejections;

-       Submit coverage queries online – “Ask the Expert;”

-       Print individual claims for coordi­nation of benefits(COB);

-       Run consolidated statements for tax purposes;

-       Access claim forms and important health information

 

Register online byvisiting www.claimsecure.com. Click on the “member” key located under the“online services” menu, and follow the on-screen guide.

Opt out and Opt in deadlines are asfollows:

September-startstudents:

Begins September 1, 2010

Deadline September 30, 2010

January-startstudents:

Begins January 1, 2011

Deadline January 31, 2011

February-startstudents:

Begins February 1, 2011

Deadline February 28, 2011

May-startstudents:

Begins May 1, 2011

Deadline May 31, 2011

 

May-start students must complete a paper opt out form throughYour SA office and provide proof of coverage. NOEXCEP­TIONS made if thedeadline is missed.

Students can only optout or in during the month that they start full time (September start studentsmust opt out or in during the month of September)

REFUND CHEQUES MUST BE PICKED UPWITHIN SIX MONTHS OF OPTING OUT. STALE-DATED CHEQUESWILL NOT BE REISSUED. CHEQUES ARE ISSUED IN THE NAME OF THE STUDENT AND A CURRENT CAMPUS ID CARD MUST BE PRESENTED TO RECEIVE A CHEQUE. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE CONTACTED INDIVIDUALLY OR THROUGH MAIL SERVICE.

 

Drug Benefits

Drug benefits cover 80 per cent of the cost of mostprescriptions drugs, including all vaccines (immunizations) up to a maximum of$3000 for one policy year from Septem­ber 1 to August 31. The dispensing feecap is $10 for prescriptions.

 

Dental benefits

Dental benefits cover 100 per cent of one examination andconsultation, necessary x-rays and diagnostic services during each policy year.

 

Also included:

- 100 per cent of one cleaning

- One unit of polishing

- 75 per cent of the cost of fillings

  space maintainers

- 75 per cent of the cost of two wisdom teeth extractions

Opt out and opt in process

Opt out: Students should check the SA website at www-your-sa.ca forinformation on opt out. Please refer to opt out deadlines.

 

Opt in: Students who stay on the Student Health Insurance Plan may optin dependents (spouse/children) by going to www.aclstudentbenefits.com and completing the opt in form and paying by VISA orMasterCard. Students can also drop by the Student Association office, secondfloor of the Student Centre and complete the paper opt in form and pay bycertified cheque or money order. We do not accept cash or personal cheques.  Please refer to the deadlines.

 

Coordination of benefits

Students who have existing insurance coverage can increase theircoverage through a coordination of benefits. This means that when a claim ismade priority payment is established as follows:

1. The plan where the insured is covered as a student.

2. The plan where the insured is covered as a dependent.
