Your SA contributes to the enrichment of student life on campus. Theyare your voice, an advocate for student rights and a repre¬sentative ofthe entire student population. Your involvement with the SA is anintegral part of your entire academic experience. Have a say in thepeople that will represent you in the year to come.
Your SA elections take place during the month of February. It isimportant that students take part in this campaign and vote for thecandidates that best represent the needs of students. If you would liketo represent your fellow students and advocate on behalf of the entirestudent population, run for one of the following positions:
Annual General Meeting
An AGM is held every year by Your Student Association to give a snap¬shot of major SA initiatives, proposed changes to the SA Bylaws, an in-depth explanation of Your SA budget. It is also a chance for SA Executives to report on their progress this year. Have a say in your SA!
All full-time students from DC, UOIT and Trent in Oshawa are encouraged to attend the AGM and are a vital part of the meeting. Students have the following responsibilities at the AGM: • Voting • Listening and understanding SA related issues • Asking questions pertaining to any business of the SA Dates for the annual general meeting will be posted on www.your-sa.ca.
By-elections
During the month of September, Your SA holds by-elections. Students elect people to fill positions within our Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of UOIT Faculty Directors, Durham College School Directors, Trent in Oshawa Directors and Presidents of Student Councils. The Board of Directors assist in the governance of student issues, funding and future progression.
