Advertising Club - The Advertising Club is a club for those students interested in a career in advertising. Aghan Student Association - The Afghan SA strives to maintain and represent the Afghan culture and community on campus. Anime on Campus - The Anime on Campus Club promotes the Japanese arts through activities such as the screening of Japanese annimation, trips to the Pacific Mall and Chinatown. Bangladesh Student Association - The BSA reaches out to Bangladeshi students to connect them with campus culture while enriching and educating students about their culture. Campus Association for Bahai Studies (CABS) - The purpose of the Association is to study the teachings, history, and philosophy of the Bahai Faith and to explore their application to the present world by sponsoring such activities as lectures, conferences, informal gatherings, and distribution of literature on the Bahai Faith. Campus Catholics - A club for Catholic students, staff and alumni seeking to provide fellowship, support and help for members so that they may practice and grow in their faith. Campus Church - Campus Church invites people into a relationship with God and desires to see the campus experience the fullness of Jesus Christ in each aspect of life. The club is involved in activities including Connect Groups, Prayer at the "O", debates, supporting single parents on campus and more. Campus Video-Gaming Federation - The Campus Video-Gaming Federation allows students to participate in recreational and competitive online and local play while promoting fair play, honesty, teamwork and cooperation. Caribbean and African Student Association - CASA is a club for students from Caribbean and African backgrounds who come together to network and explore a community of common interests on campus. Canadian Nursing Student Association - CNSA is the voice of nursing students in Canada. As a member, you have the opportunity to interact with other nursing students on educational, professional and social levels. Please go to www.cnsa.ca for more information. Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy - The Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy club provides peer and public education on various substance use issues, information on current drug policy as well as policy reform and harm reduction programs. Chinese Student Association - The CSA increases awareness of the Chinese social, cultural and traditional values on campus. Coptic Student Association - The Coptic Student Association increases awareness and understanding on campus about its religion, history and language through open discussion, biblical readings and studies and guest speakers. Divine Youth Association - The Divine Youth Association will provide an opportunity for students to study Vedic culture and explore various aspects of spirituality. Drama Club - The Drama Club is designed to bring students together who have an interest in the arts, specifically the dramatic arts. The main objective is to create a comfortable environment where students can express themselves in ways that differ from their everyday personalities. The Drama Club will meeon on a regular basis to discuss and rehearse monologues, plays, technique and improv. Fashionable Living Affecting Student Habits - The mission of this group is to be a cfreative outlet for the promotion and provision of events and activities relating to fashion, apparel and current trends for students. Film Club - The Film Club will enrich the understanding of the cinematic arts, bring together students who share a common interest in film and provide entertainment. Firefighters Club - The Firefighters Club will educate the student body and community about fire safety as well as raise money for local charities. Students will benefit from learning more about prevention both on and off campus. Forensic Science Society - The Forensic Science Society is an interest group for students to network with others who share their interest, and to participate in events related to forensic science. This club seeks to bring awareness of the field of forensic science to the campus environment. Game Development Club - The Game Development Club is for students interested in developing and critiquing video game projects. The club hopes to hold occasional gaming events such as tournaments when fundraising is necessary while also hosing design contests for fun and to showcase talent. Health Information Management Student Association - The HIMSA aims to promote the field to first and second year students who are thinking about entering the specialization in their third year and provide information to students about other organization in the HIM field. Hindu Student Association - The Hindu SA increases awareness about Hindusim by educating others about the Hindu philosophy. It also helps international students adjust to a new environment and culture. Hip Hop In Its Essence and Realness (H.E.R.) - H.E.R. will promote the four elements of the Hip Hop cuture which are B-boying, Graffiti, Emceeing and D-Jaying and will hold showcases and exhibitions throughout the school year. Hong Kong Student Association - The Hong Kong Student Assocation is dedicated to providing diversity and communication for its members and those who are interested in Hong Kong society and culture. It is their hope to connect with other students from other schools. Indian Student Association - The Indian Student Association increases awareness of East Indian social, cultural and traditional values on campus by hosting many events throughout the year. Ithemba Choir - Ithemba stands for "hope", a feeling the choir intends to spread throughout the campus, community and beyond. Through team collaboration, the choir will pariticpate in a number of performances and fundraising activites in order to spread harmony and musical culture. Justice Society - The Justice Society encourages student advocacy and leadership, social involvement and academic excellence. It will conduct initiatives in support of various social and legal organizations within Durham Region and beyond. Karuna Environmental Movement - The Karuna Environmental Movement provides the opportunity to gather, teach, learn, promote awareness and share a passion for the continued health and evolution of the planet. Legal Administration Club - The Legal Administration Club provides a networking path for students looking for prospective job opportunities. The club hosts a Legal Administration Career Fair and helps members obtain field positions. Magic: The Gathering - Magic: The Gathering is a trading card game. The club provides an environment in which students can play the game in a friendly atmosphere with each other. The club runs weekly gaming nights, monthly tournaments and other fun and interesting events. Meal Exchange - Meal Exchange builds student engagement around hunger and food security and raises awareness of hunger in Canada. Med Lab United - Med Lab United unites all medical laboratory science students and represents the medical laboratory program and profession. Students will meet regularly to discuss significant changes within the profession. Middle Eastern Student Association - The Middle Eastern Student Association creates an awareness on campus and educates the student body about their culture. Model United Nations Club - The Model UN Club seeks to enhance student involvement in issues that matter and build a strong community of future global leaders. Muslim Student Association - The Muslim Student Association creates a sense of community for Muslims and increases campus awareness about the Muslim culture and Islam. Off-Campus Club - The Off-Campus Club is designed to bridge the gap between life on and off campus by bringing together students to form more relationships and have a greater participation in campus life. Students will have the opportunity to participate in events both on campus and in various cities where students commute from. This club will give students a reason to stay after calss and will allow commuter students (who would otherwise lose out on many great opportunities), a more fulfilling undergraduate experience. Ontario Ismaili Student Association - The OntISA is an organizaiton dedicated to the physical, academic, social and cultural well-being of Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims. Paralegal Student Association - The Paralegal Student Association is a student run organization that serves as a legal information directory for the student body. The main objective of the club is to assist students in locating legal information and raise the legal awareness of all students. Polish Student Association - The Polish Student Association will promote Polish cuture, history, and language through interactive events like movie nights and discussion of issues affecting Poland and Polish Canadians today. Poet's Corner - The Poet's Corner will introduce or re-introduce writing and poetry to the student population through gatherings, competitions and performances. Pre-Medical Society - The Pre-Medical Society helps students understand the requirements for medical school and attributes of medical schools outside Ontario. Pride - Pride aims to provide an inclusive, supportive, social outlet for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Queer students and their allies and works closely with the SA LGBTQ Centre on campus. Rotaract - Rotaract is part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world by organizing and facilitating fundraisers that will assist the surrounding community and international organizations. Salsastyles.net - Salsastyles.net teaches the fundamental steps of various Latin dances to interested students. South Asian Student Association - SASA unites all South Asian students on campus through events and get-togethers. SpoofIT - SpoofIT focuses on the field of information technology and security. Students are invited to participate in talks with IT and security professionals, attend conferences and compete in gaming events. Students Against Social Injustice - SASI strives to promote awareness and educate students on social injustice, creating a positive and supportive environment for those who want to make a difference in the community. Student Conservatives Association - The Student Conservatives Association will bring together students with a common interest in both Canadian politics and right-wing political ideas and will follow and support the role of the Federal Conservative Party of Canada. Student Law Association - The Student Law Association will provide its members with the knowledge and opportunities that will help them achieve their academic goals in the area of law, and create a social place wherein students can spawn an interest in law, nurture their existent interest in law, and inspire enthusiasm for law in other students on campus through philanthropic work. Students for Humanitarianism and Action through Respect and Education - SHARE participates in the annual Gulu Walk, Pangaea, leadership seminars and much more. The club is committed to helping others and consists of a strong group of students from different backgrounds. Tamil Student Association - The Tamil Student Association is a group with the sole purpose of uniting the Tamil student population with each other as well as with other cultural groups. The club will provide an identity and a vision for the Tamil student population and accentuate and display their diversity. The Conservation Club - The Conservation Club strives to bring members of the campus together to discuss ways to be sustainable, provide education about world issues and how they will affect us in the future if not changed and aid in making the community better. The Experimental Physics Club - The Experimental Physics Club will explore many fun but basic physical concepts appealing to all students intersted in science while sharing knowledge and understanding about practical application of physics. The Outbound Club - The Outbound Club will offer students with similar intersts in outdoor activities the opportunities to venture out and particpate in a very fulfilling and rewarding experience with the natural world. Trent Durham UOIT Dynamix (TDU Dynamix) - TDU Dynamix is a competitive dance club for styles such as lyrical, jaxx, tap, cabaret and hip hop routines. Auditions are held in September. V.I.P Entertainment - V.I.P. Entertainment promotes social awareness through entertainment by hosting various charity fundraisers. The club supports diversity on campus by bringing forms of entertainment which are not otherwise available to students. Women In Engineering - Women in Engineering aims to promote a welcoming environment for women to pursue careers out of "traditional" areas of study and further the equality of women. Working Towards International Student Harmony - W.I.S.H. helps bring the voices and opinions of international students to the forefront by promoting different cultures and experiences to domestic students. The club also mentors international students on campus. Young Liberals Student Association - The Young Liberals Student Association strives to promote interest in politics in the community and on campus and federally and will bring in guest speakers and host meetings of interest to fellow Liberal students on campus and students who want more information about being Liberal. Young NDP Association - This club will unite politically active youth to take action on local, provincial, national and international issues on the campus and within the surrounding community. It will strive to promote the ideologies of the New Democratic Party, create an air of socialism on campus and work towards the election of NDP candidates to office. |
