Student Insurance Plan
We offer a health, dental and travel insurance plan to all full-time Durham College and UOIT students provided by www.wespeakstudent.com.
New this year, we’re giving you the chance to choose a plan that’s specially designed to fit your needs. Select one of four plans, equal in value, each with different combinations of prescription, dental and vision coverage.
Students are automatically enrolled on the balanced plan, but can easily switch to one of our three enhanced plans. If you select an enhanced plan before September 30, it will take up to three weeks for the changes to take effect.
FORMS
2015-2016 OPT-OUT DATES
Full-time students at Durham College and UOIT are automatically enrolled in the Health Plan as a part of their tuition. However, you can opt out of the plan within the specified dates, but must meet set criteria (see MORE DETAILS below). Health Plan coverage runs from September 1, 2015 to August 31, 2016.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Students may only opt-in or opt-out during the month that they start full-time studies
- May-start students must complete a paper opt out form through the SA Main Office and provide proof of coverage
- No exceptions are made if the deadline is missed
- Opt-out cheques are issued in the name of the student

MORE DETAILS
Students who have other coverage can use the student insurance in coordination with their current coverage to increase coverage, or they can opt out of the dental and extended health portion of the plan online by September 30, 2015. Students must provide the required proof of coverage to the insurance company to complete the opt-out. Prescription drug, travel insurance, and accident insurance are mandatory.
September start students may opt-in dependents to the insurance coverage for an additional fee. The deadline for opting in dependents is September 30, 2015 and can be completed online or in person at the SA Main Office.

- ClaimSecure is the insurance provider
- The group number is 513974
- Student number is the Student ID on the plan
