Student Housing

Important information for students living off-campus

All Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) students living off-campus should be aware of recent changes to housing bylaws in the City of Oshawa. Under the Rental Housing Licensing by -law passed last year, all houses renting more than two bedrooms must be licensed.

During your search for student housing, it is important to ask any potential landlords for their license number before you sign a lease. This license indicates that the landlord has met all of the necessary building, fire and zoning codes.

Durham College and UOIT, in partnership with places4students.com, can help you find suitable off-campus housing. This online housing registry features a selection of affordable and comfortable accommodations, often within walking distance of the school

Your Student Association (Your SA) wants your educational experience at Durham College/UOIT to be a pleasant one including where you live while you’re attending school. For more information about off-campus housing options, please contact sapres@dc-uoit.ca.
